Big thanks to everyone who came to one of the receptions for my show at @artistsgalleryec! We just hung a new show featuring watercolors of Maryland and India by Columbia, MD artist @nishitasart, which are amazing, and you should come see them. And @realtorkimkash has the best laugh.

A swath of creamy vanilla stripes divides an ocean of warm, glowing marigold. Atop the heavenly gold sea, I’ve floated dozens of squares of thin vanilla glass, each with a wee thread of black glass on top. Positioned atop the transparent glass, you can see them casting them a shadow through to the opaque bottom. Nestled in the vanilla stripes, blocks of soft, wavy vanilla are surrounded by clear glass, providing a window through the bowl.

This mask-like sculpture of an abstract face has friendly turquoise and orange eyes composed of glass murrine. The eyes are set in a field of creamy vanilla strips of glass standing on edge. On the forehead, squares of colored glass float above clear, casting a shadow to call attention to the panel's depth.
Visually interesting from both sides, this sculpture can be used as a centerpiece or placed on a console table dividing two areas of an open-plan space. Fused and cold worked.
