Into the Wood for the Howard County Historical Society’s EC250 ARTifacts Exhibition

To celebrate the 250th anniversary of Ellicott City, Howard County artists are making work inspired by a collection of Ellicott City artifacts in the collection of the Howard County Historical Society for the ARTifacts exhibition. Into the Wood is a bowl inspired by a carved wood pitcher, with ripples of glass reminiscent of the whorls of bark surrounding tree limbs, and a barkesque crackly pattern made with glass powders.

The exhibition runs from August 19 to September 24, 2022, with a reception on September 16 at the Howard County Arts Council.
