Orange Artifact in CraftForms 2023

Lauded for its ability to attract top artists and industry experts to serve as jurors, CraftForms showcases the best of modern craft in a region where craft is king! Each year CraftForms, which is dedicated to enhancing the public’s awareness of fine contemporary craft, provides a venue for local, regional and nationally-recognized craft artists to share their creative endeavors with the Wayne Art Center community. While the first CraftForms presented 35 works from regional artists, CraftForms today features over 80 works from nation wide and international artists.

My Orange Artifact Bowl will be on display from December 2, 2023 to January 20, 2024. The opening reception is on December 2.

Orange Artifact

Bright red-orange ripples, sparkling iridescence, and complex patterned murrine abut rings of glass powder atop a grid of gray tiles seamed with black mortar. In contrast with the glossy smoothness of the rest of the bowl, the rings have irregular edges, thick rims, and stand off the surface to make the piece very tactile. You’ll want to run your fingers over them every time you walk by. Read more about this piece.
